Lucknow: One of the ace transit enterprises of the country, Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation has successfully implemented its rainwater harvesting initiative by collecting and using over 2 lakh litres of rainwater every year.
The report was shared by the metro authority, on the occasion of World Water Day, through its social media platform.
Lucknow metro has definitely eased local commute for city dwellers. Its station complexes house an array of facilities like well-furnished interiors and sufficient parking spaces which make the metro, the most well-equipped means of transport in the city.
Where the LMRC priorities the comfort and benefit of its commuters, the metro authorities have also taken up initiatives to upgrade the environment and the surrounding ecosystem. Under such ambitious plan, comes this innovative rainwater harvesting scheme which has assuredly enhanced water conservation in the city.
The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) declared that the objective of Lucknow Metro is to also ensure water conversation as much as possible. And given to such an amazing initiative, the LMRC has successfully harvested over 2 lakh litres of rainwater for a varied range of alternate usage. As Lucknow metro has successfully achieved this milestone, it can be easily observed that the metro authorities in the city are strongly committed to a better tomorrow.
Lucknow Metro is not helping to minimise the carbon print by beating the fuel running vehicles on the street but is also facilitating comfortable and upgraded journeys for local commuters. Thus, if you opt for this rapid transit system, you too contribute towards a safe and secure tomorrow.
