Lucknow: According to the information given by the Metro Man-E Sreedharan, Lucknow metro is all set to run between Transport Nagar and Charbagh by the end of next month.
He further gave information regarding the fares that Lucknow Metro will have fares that will be comparatively cheaper than that of Kochi metro train service.
Sreedharan is the principle advisor of Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) and was in Lucknow for inspection of development works of metro.
On replying to media reports Sreedharan replied:” We normally give one month’s notice to the commissioner of Metro railway safety (CMRS) to inspect a Metro project before giving a safety clearance. We have sent the request and expect him to come any time before July 15. We hope Lucknow Metro to be ready for public launch in the third or fourth week of July.”
After getting NOC from CMRS, LMRC is now waiting for state governments’ consent to set a date for Lucknow Metro launch. During the initial stage four trains will run on the 8.5 km metro lines laid in Lucknow. There will be a gap of six to seven minutes between the arrival of two trains. Railway board has given its nod to Lucknow metro, Sreedharan and Company is now waiting to get the consent of from CMRS who will do the inspection about the safety features, passengers facilities and communication system and then give its final consent.
