Mohan Cabinet Meeting: Rs 24,420 Electricity Subsidy Approved, 40,000 Health Department Jobs Announced

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will convene a significant meeting to discuss various critical topics, including preparations for the Simhastha festival in Ujjain set for 2028, the upcoming rainy season session of the Assembly starting July 1, and budget preparations.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired a crucial cabinet meeting in the ministry on Tuesday, leading to significant decisions impacting electricity subsidies, new university funding, and health department recruitment.

Massive Electricity Subsidies Approved

The cabinet approved substantial subsidies to benefit various consumer categories:

Agricultural Consumers: Rs 13,000 crore in subsidies.

Domestic Consumers: Rs 5,000 crore in subsidies.

Scheduled Caste and Tribe Farmers: Over Rs 5,000 crore in subsidies.

Major Boost in Health Department Recruitment
In response to current and future healthcare needs, the cabinet approved the creation of 40,491 new posts, both regular and contractual:

Immediate Recruitment: 18,653 posts to be filled over the next three years, with an annual financial impact of Rs 343 crore.
National Health Mission: Remaining 27,828 posts to be filled.

Additionally, out of 12,214 sanctioned specialist posts in the Madhya Pradesh Public Health and Family Welfare Service Recruitment Rules 2022, 607 promotion posts will be filled through direct recruitment.

New Universities Funded
The cabinet allocated Rs 3 crore each for the initial setup of three new universities:

Rani Avanti Bai Lodhi University, Sagar

Kranti Suryakant Tantya University, Khargone

Krantiveer Tatyatope University, Guna

An annual block grant and a provision of Rs 10 crore for the first financial year were also approved. Further, 235 posts for the new universities and Rs 150 crore for their construction were sanctioned. Additionally, Rs 45 crore was allocated for Pandit Shambhunath Shukla University, Shahdol.
