Madhya Pradesh dog attack: 5-year-old girl killed after mauled by stray dogs in Khargone

Civil surgeon Anar Singh Chauhan said the injured girl was brought to a government hospital in Bedia and later to the district hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries. Over half-a-dozen dogs attacked 5-year-old Sonia, the girl, in the street on Friday afternoon.

Khargone: In a tragic incident, A five-year-old girl was killed in an attack by stray dogs in Khargone district of Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The incident is from Bakawa village of Bedia police station area of ​​the district.

On Friday afternoon, more than half a dozen dogs attacked a girl named Sonia on the road. A police officer said that the girl was alone at the time of the incident, her father is a labourer, who was working at that time.

On the other hand, Civil Surgeon Anar Singh Chauhan said that the injured girl was brought to a government hospital in Bedia and later to the district hospital, but she succumbed to her injuries.

A few days back, a 7-month-old baby had died after being mauled by a stray dog at an apartment building in Noida. The baby was hospitalised after suffering serious injuries in the attack, and later succumbed.

“The parents of the child are construction workers. Both were working inside the society and had kept their child near them. However, a stray dog had entered the society and it bit the child, leaving him severely injured,” a police source had said.

The Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation recently banned the residents from keeping the ferocious Pitbull, Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino dog breeds as pets. The civic body issued a host of other guidelines for pet owners according to which they will have to get a licence for their dogs. No family can keep more than one pet dog, the guidelines said.
