Mumbai: Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are the toast of the nation due to their upcoming film, ‘Pathaan’. The release of the song ‘Besharam Rang’ has created a lot of controversy. Despite the uproar, the song has been getting a tremendous response, with over 100 million views in just five days.
Political parties are giving the film a different colour to get some political mileage. It is needless to add that the song ‘Besharam Rang’ is synonymous with vulgarity and promotes sexual activities in society. Its effect would be detrimental on the minds of teenagers and youngsters.
Both Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra and Assembly Speaker Girish Gautam have spoken out against Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film, “Pataan.”
“Shah Rukh should watch this film with his daughter, upload a picture, and tell the world that he is watching it with his daughter,” he said
Congress leaders are not behind in opposing the film Pathaan. Senior party leaders, including the leader of the opposition, Dr Govind Singh, and former Union Minister Suresh Pachouri, have lashed out at the film, saying it’s “against our values”.
“It’s not about Pathaan, but about paridhan (clothes),” Suresh Pachouri explained. He further said that in Indian culture, such kinds of scanty dresses are never permitted, and no one, whether Hindus, Muslims, or followers of any other religion, will tolerate a woman wearing such dresses and publicly displaying that scene.
“I advise the makers of the film to remove the controversial parts of the song. He further said that the song title ‘Besharam Rang’ is also horrible, and the use of saffron and green costumes in the song is objectionable as well. “Changes must be made, or the film will not be screened in Madhya Pradesh,” Mr Mishra said.
Pathaan is set to be released on January 25, 2023, and the controversy before the release has already increased its popularity.
