Maharashtra: CBI court rejects bail plea of former Maha Home Minister Anil Deshmukh in corruption case

Mumbai: The special CBI court in Mumbai on Friday rejected the bail plea of ​​former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating this case registered against the former Home Minister. The court had said on Thursday that it would pronounce on Friday the verdict on the bail application of former Maharashtra Home Minister Deshmukh, who is in judicial custody in connection with alleged corruption and misuse of the post.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had attended the court for bail in this case after receiving bail on October 4 from Bombay High Court in a matter of money laundering on behalf of the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) was arrested on 2 November 2021. Sanjeev Palande’s bail petition has also dismissed the CBI’s special court. Sanjay Palande was the personal secretary of former minister Anil Deshmukh.

Anil Deshmukh was admitted to a private hospital for ‘coronary angiography’ last week. Deshmukh was a minister in the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government of Maharashtra. Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress were partners in this government.
