Maharashtra: Curfew in Amalner after clash between 2 groups, 31 people held

Maharashtra: Amid tension in several cities of Maharashtra, violence has also come to the fore from Jalgaon district. There was an incident of stone pelting between two groups in Amalner town of the district. In fact, an argument between two to three youths over a minor matter later turned into a scuffle and the dispute led to stone pelting between the two groups.

Maharashtra: Amid tension in several cities of Maharashtra, violence has also come to the fore from Jalgaon district. There was an incident of stone pelting between two groups in Amalner town of the district. In fact, an argument between two to three youths over a minor matter later turned into a scuffle and the dispute led to stone pelting between the two groups.

In this some vehicles were damaged and 3 policemen and 3 to 4 people were also injured. Following the incident, heavy police force has been deployed in the area and a tense calm is being observed. Jalgaon SP M. Rajkumar said that the police have detained 50 to 60 people in connection with the violence that broke out over a minor dispute between two groups at Amalner in Jalgaon district.

At present, a large number of police forces have been deployed in Amalner cities. Jalgaon Police has appealed to the citizens not to believe any kind of fake news. At present there is tense peace in Amalner towns and curfew has been imposed in Amalner for 48 hours as per the order given by the Provincial Magistrate. In the night two groups created ruckus, pelted stones and ransacked.

Stones were pelted at the places of worship of both the groups. Some policemen have also been injured. Assistant Police Inspector Rakesh Singh Pardeshi was attacked with a sword, thankfully he escaped unhurt.

Jalgaon Additional SP Ramesh Chopde said that so far over 100 people have been booked in the Amalner town incident. A total of 31 people have been arrested so far and further arrests are underway. Those who have been identified through CCTV are being investigated, they are being searched, we have formed some teams, through those teams the remaining people will be arrested as soon as possible.

Earlier, tension was seen in two districts regarding Aurangzeb in Maharashtra. The first incident took place in Kolhapur, where on Tuesday some youths posted on social media in support of Aurangzeb. During a protest called against this on Wednesday, the protesters clashed with the police. Earlier on Tuesday, the incident of stone pelting came to light in Ahmednagar. A demonstration was organized here against a rally in support of Aurangzeb. Curfew was imposed in the entire area after the protest turned violent.
