Earlier, the police said that an FIR was registered against the designer for allegedly threatening and offering money for Amrita’s involvement in a criminal case. Jaisinghani’s father is also an accused in this case and he is absconding.

An FIR was registered against the woman, who has been identified as Aniksha, at the Malabar Hill police station on February 20 on Amrita’s complaint, the official said. According to the FIR, Aniksha was in touch with Amrita for the past 16 months and used to visit her house. In her statement to the police, Amrita said that she met Aniksha for the first time in November 2021.

An official from Malabar Hill police station said that Anishka claimed that she is a designer and designs clothes, jewelery and shoes. He had requested Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis’ wife to wear them at public events to help promote his products.

The officer said Aniksha allegedly told Amrita that her mother had died and she was taking care of her family. The officer said that after gaining Amrita’s trust, Aniksha offered to give information about some bookies, claiming that she could earn money from it. The officer said that after this he directly offered Rs one crore to Amrita to save her father in a police case.

The officer said Amrita told the police that she was upset with Anishka’s behavior and blocked her number. The woman then allegedly sent video clips, voice messages and several text messages to Amrita from an unknown number. Citing the FIR, the officer said that Anishka and her father indirectly threatened Amrita and hatched a conspiracy against her. The city police have registered an FIR against Anishka and her father under section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
