Raigad: Tragedy strikes after massive fire erupts at a company in the Mahad Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) area of Raigad district in Maharashtra on Friday. According to sources, four to five people have killed so far and many labourers are trapped.
After the massive fire, several explosions were also reported in the industrial firm. The fire took place in the Blue Jet Healthcare company. After the fire started, loud explosions were also heard.
Incident site video emerges that shows a large plume of dark smoke due to the fire was seen coming out.

Reports also surfaced of a gas leak in the company. Preliminary information suggests that some workers are trapped inside. Fire trucks from Mahad MIDC and other locations have arrived at the scene. Firefighters are attempting to extinguish the fire. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.. Preliminary reports also suggest that some people might have lost their lives in the incident. However, the district police have not said anything on the casualties yet.
The company where the fire incident reported is said to be a chemical firm. Some media reports suggest that around 11 workers are trapped in the chemical unit. At least four workers were died due to burn injuries. The condition of three workers is said to be serious.
Report claims that the explosion took place in the unit due to a gas leak. Subsequently, fire erupt in the unit around 11am. Fire services are at the spot to control the blaze. As explosion took place, people and other workers started running helter-skelter on the premises. It is unclear whether the explosion took place due to the gas leak.
