Mumbai: A violent clash has taken place between two groups in Kiradpura area of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. Police Commissioner Nikhil Gupta said that two groups pelted stones and some police vehicles were set on fire outside Ram Mandir. The police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the people. Right now the situation is peaceful. Strict action will be taken against the accused, investigation is on.
At present, the police have taken control of the situation and there is a strict police presence in the entire city. Police have also released tear gas shells in Kiradpura area. Three vehicles of the fire brigade have been sent to the spot to control the fire in the vehicles. AIMIM National Corporator Mohammed Naseeruddin shared a video from inside the Ram Mandir and said “some false news was spread that some miscreants had attacked the temple”.
Mohammed Naseeruddin added that Aurangabad MP Imtiaz Jaleel reached the spot and “appealed not to believe on any rumors and both communities to maintain peace in the city.”

According to the police, the incident took place at 12:30 pm. It is being told that the violence started outside the temple in Sambhajinagar. Immediately, people from both sides gathered in large numbers, and started attacking each other. Cars were blown up. During this, stones were pelted and bombs were also thrown.
On getting information about the incident, the police officers reached the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. There is still tension in the area. A large number of security forces have been deployed in view of the situation.
