A 25-year-old woman had given birth to second child. She was worried about having a daughter for the second time, due to which she murdered the newborn on 29 December.
New Delhi: In Latur, Maharashtra, a woman has been arrested for the murder of her three-day-old daughter. A police officer gave this information on Saturday. Goregaon police station official said that the 25-year-old woman had strangled the newborn on 29 December. He told that during investigation it was revealed that the accused was depressed after giving birth to a second girl child. Sub-inspector Kishor Kamble said that after probing the death of the girl child, the woman was arrested on Friday evening.
Daughters are still considered a burden in our society, this incident of Latur confirms this fact. Daughters have become a burden for the society, that’s why they are killed in the womb and if they come into the world, they are killed at the hands of the family members. In October 2020, a 30-year-old woman, upset after giving birth to a second daughter, thrashed her four-year-old elder daughter to death in Ludhiana, Punjab. Police said that the woman was the wife of a migrant laborer from Bihar. The woman allegedly killed her four-year-old daughter by slamming her on the wall and floor in the bathroom of the house located in Navneet Nagar of Salem Tabri area of Ludhiana. Such cases keep coming from every corner of the country.
