New Delhi: Martin Murray has ended his tenure as Chief Technology Officer(CTO) with Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd (MEML) last month, a source close to the development informed ETAuto.
Murray was responsible for product and project engineering, mobility solutions, and programme management at Mahindra Electric. His last working day was July 31, 2021. Now he is moving to Germany.
This comes soon after Mahesh Babu’s resignation as CEO and MD of the company in July to pursue interests outside the company. Consequently, Suman Mishra, Senior Vice President, Business Transformation, Insight & Analytics, Automotive Sector will take over as Chief Executive of MEML and Chief Executive of Last Mile Mobility Business from August 14.
Murray was reporting to Mahesh Babu and lived in Bengaluru.
Earlier in March 2021, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited consolidated Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited (MEML), a step-down subsidiary, into the company. The consolidation was laid down to categorize EV operations into two focused verticals: Last Mile mobility (LMM) and Electric Vehicle Tech Centre.
Rajesh Jejurikar, the executive director, Mahindra & Mahindra Limited, then said, “Electric vehicles will be the future of the automotive business. To be future-ready, we believe that EV should be part of the core and mainstream business.”
Murray joined Mahindra Electric Mobility in December 2019. Prior to this, he ran his own consulting firm in EV space known as Murray EV consultants. Earlier for 31-years he was with General Motors at various roles.
He is a mechanical engineer from the Missouri University of Science and Technology and holds an MBA degree from Middle Tennessee State University.
