UP major road accident! 6 Dead, several injured after a pickup trampled people sitting on roadside in Chitrakoot

CHITRAKOOT: In yet another major road accident seen in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday morning. In Chitrakoot area one pickup van trampled people sitting on road side in which 6 people died on the spot while many severely injured. In Rauli Kalyanpur under Bharatkup police station area of ​​the district, a pick-up vehicle filled with tomatoes trampled the people sitting on the roadside.

One person was brought to the hospital, where he died during treatment. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed to provide assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of the dead and Rs 50,000 to the injured and strict action against the pickup driver.

On receiving information about the incident, the police administration reached the spot and arrested the pickup driver. The bodies have been taken in possession and sent for post-mortem. MLA Anil Pradhan reached the spot and consoled the victim’s family and expressed condolences over the incident.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh each for the next of kin of those who have lost their lives and Rs 50,000 to the injured after six people were killed and two others were injured in an accident in Chitrakoot.

“UP CM Yogi Adityanath has deeply condoled the death of people in the road accident in the Chitrakoot area of the district. The Chief Minister has expressed condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased. The Chief Minister has directed the officials to immediately provide proper treatment and relief to those injured in the accident,” UP CM Office tweeted.

“The Chief Minister has given instructions to provide assistance of Rs 2 lakh to the next of kin of the dead and 50,000 to the injured and instructed to take strict action against the pickup driver,” it said in a subsequent tweet.

The incident is from Rauli Kalyanpur village of Bharatkup police station area, where the procession of Jari village of Banda district had come. During this some people were sitting on the side of the road and some were sleeping in front of the house. Then the pickup vehicle lost its balance and trampled 8 people. In the incident, 5 people died on the spot. Out of which 5 people died while the injured have been admitted to the district hospital. After this incident, there is a huge outrage among the families of the victims.
