Major accident in MP! Passenger-laden bus headed to Pune falls into Narmada river, 13 bodies recovered

Dhar/Madhya Pradesh: In yet another tragic incident of roadways came into fore in Dhar. Passenger-laden bus headed to Pune falls into Narmada river. A Maharashtra Roadways bus going from Indore to Pune in Madhya Pradesh’s Dhar district fell into the Narmada river after breaking the railing of the bridge in Khalghat area. So far 15 people have been rescued while 13 bodies have been recovered. About 40 people were on the bus. Relief and rescue work is going on. The bus has been pulled out of the raging river amid the rain.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken cognizance of the bus accident in Khalghat, Khargone this morning. He said that as soon as the information about the bus fell into the river, the administration was instructed to reach soon. Relief and rescue work is on. The district administration is on the spot. The Chief Minister has given instructions to send SDRF, in addition, instructions have been given to send necessary resources to the spot. Instructions have been given to arrange for proper treatment of the injured. The Chief Minister is in constant touch with Khargone, Indore district administration.

The MP Home Minister said that the Maharashtra government’s “ST” bus going from Indore to Pune has a very sad and painful accident of falling in the Narmada river at Khalghat near Dhamnod. All the responsible administrative officers and rescue teams have reached the spot. All rescue efforts are being made. 15 people have been rescued. The cause of the accident is being ascertained.

On this incident, former Chief Minister of the state and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath said that he prays to God to keep everyone safe. He tweeted and said- Sad information has been received about the fall of a bus full of passengers in the Narmada river at Khalghat in Dhar district. I demand from the government and administration that by doing rescue work on a war footing, the work of providing relief to the people can be done.

The injured passengers have been sent to Dhamnod Government Hospital with the help of an ambulance. Dhamnod Police and Khaltaka Police are handling the front on the spot. Divers are engaged for rescue, the number of passengers in the bus is not yet clear.
