In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) wing of Tarn Taran police arrested two individuals and confiscated a substantial 5kg of heroin during a barricading near Bhuse village, falling under the jurisdiction of Sara-e-Amanat Khan police station. The arrested individuals, identified as Samsher Singh alias Shera and Yadwinder Singh alias Yad, hail from Rajatal village in the Gharinda police station area of Amritsar rural district.

Punjab Two Arrested with 5kg Heroin


In a significant anti-narcotics operation, the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) wing of Tarn Taran police arrested two individuals and confiscated a substantial 5kg of heroin during a barricading near Bhuse village, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ashwani Kapur, in a press conference, disclosed that the arrests were made based on a tip-off, leading to the establishment of a checkpoint by CIA-Incharge Prabhjit Singh and his team near Bhuse village. Shera was apprehended with 2.8kg of heroin, while Yad was found in possession of 2.220kg of the contraband substance. The police are actively investigating to uncover the complete network and associations of the accused.

Tarn Taran police arrested two individuals Preliminary findings suggest that the seized heroin was smuggled from Pakistan, prompting authorities to explore the possibility of drone involvement in the smuggling operation. A case has been registered under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, at the Sara-e-Amanat Khan police station. The police are committed to thoroughly probing the case to dismantle any potential drug-trafficking network and bring the perpetrators to justice.
