Jharkhand News: Naxalites attacked security forces in Kolhan forest on the eve of Independence Day. Two jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar have been martyred in this encounter. It may be known that on August 11, an encounter took place in this area with Naxalite Misir Besra squad carrying one crore prize, in which police demolished 11 bunkers of Naxalites in this area.
Chaibasa: In an unfortunate incident on the eve of Independence Day, Maoists attacked security forces in Kolhan forest of West Singhbhum district. During this encounter, two soldiers of Jharkhand Jaguar have been sacrificed. The encounter is said to have taken place late Monday around 7:00 pm on the way to Tumbahaka and Sarjamburu under Tonto police station.
After the encounter, the matter of missing five jawans was also coming to the fore, but after the encounter was over, three jawans were recovered safely at around 12:00 in the night. While two jawans of Jharkhand Jaguar were found dead.
One of them is SI of Jharkhand Jaguar and the other is a constable. The names of the martyred jawans are Amit Tiwari, Sub Inspector (2012 batch) and Gautam Kumar, Havaldar. The SI sustained seven-eight bullet injuries in the encounter, while the constable sustained two-three bullet injuries. Martyr SI was a resident of Palamu. He had a son just three days back and was preparing to go home after taking leave after the Naxalite operation was over.
Preparations are on to take the dead bodies of both the martyred soldiers to Ranchi through chopper. According to sources, CRPF and Jharkhand Jaguar teams have been deployed in the area to clear the road from Tumbahaka to Sarjamburu under Tonto police station area.
On Monday, this team was working to clear the way. In this sequence, at around 7 o’clock in the night, the Naxalite Misir Besra’s squad suddenly started firing. This created chaos there.
The jawans hid under the cover of the forests to save themselves. Some jawans also retaliated by taking their positions. After an encounter that lasted for about an hour, the Naxalites fled from the spot. Meanwhile, 5 jawans were not being found. Due to unavailability of mobile network, no contact could be made with him.
Late night, additional forces from other CRPF camps were sent to the encounter site. After this, a search operation was conducted in the entire area in the night itself. During the operation, the bodies of two Jharkhand Jaguar jawans were found in the forest. Three jawans were found safe.
