Rajouri: A government official was shot dead in targeted attack by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district on Monday night, officials said. He was taken to hospital in injured condition, where he succumbed to the injuries.
The victim was identified as Abdula Razaq, who was gunned down outside a mosque in his village of Kunda Top, located under the Thanamandi police station area. The deceased’s brother reportedly served in the Indian Army.
40-year-old Abdula Razaq was an employee in the social welfare department, according to a report in sources.
The assailants, launched a fatal attack on Razaq from close range before fleeing the scene. Security personnel rushed to the spot and launched a massive cordon and search operation to track down the terrorists, they said, reported sources.
Security forces swiftly cordoned off the area, and an investigation has been launched to apprehend the attackers, as confirmed by Rajouri Police, as per sources.

Terrorists Kill Migrant Worker In J&K
In Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district as a migrant worker from Bihar, Raju Shah, fell victim to a targeted attack by terrorists, according to officials on Wednesday. The Kashmir Zone Police confirmed the incident on X, stating that despite efforts to save him, Shah succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
