Noida: In a tragic incident, a man and his ex-wife allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison at their house on Monday, police said. Noida Deputy Commissioner of Police Harish Chander said the bodies of both were found by their family members at the man’s house in Sector 122.

Tarun (35), a software engineer in an IT company located in Sector-16 and originally a resident of Kankarkheda, Meerut, lived in Sector-122. He was not picking up calls from his family members on Monday. The family members sent their relative Suraj, resident of Muradnagar, Ghaziabad, to Tarun’s house in Noida. There Tarun’s body was lying on the floor. Suraj immediately informed the police. Police reached the spot and recovered the body of Tarun along with his divorced wife Sarita (30) from inside the house. Sarita, originally a resident of Jagriti Vihar, Meerut, was the chief nurse in a private hospital.
Police have sent both the bodies for post-mortem. Police found a suicide note and and a bottle of poisonous substance from the room. Police have expressed suspicion that both of them may have committed suicide by consuming poisonous substance. DCP Harish Chander said that the family members have been informed about the incident. All aspects are being investigated.
In the recovered suicide note, it is written about being upset and not making anyone happy. In this, while mentioning some names, it has also been said to take care of them. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suicide note was written by Tarun. However, the police is investigating the suicide note.
Tarun lived alone in Sector-122. Police are investigating whether the two are together after divorce. They are also trying to find out whether Sarita met Tarun only on Monday or she was with him for days. Police are also investigating the circumstances under which both of them decided to commit suicide together.
As soon as information about double suicide was received, the forensic team reached the spot and collected evidence. Suicide notes and and a bottle of poisonous substance were found from the spot. Police officials are saying that the situation will become clear after the post mortem report comes. Police probe into the matter is underway
