Agartala: Manik Saha once again took oath as the Chief Minister of Tripura. Along with him, eight more ministers took oath of office and secrecy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in this function. Apart from the PM, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of several states were also present in this event.
Agartala: Manik Saha once again took oath as the Chief Minister of Tripura. Along with him, eight more ministers took oath of office and secrecy. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also participated in this function. Apart from the PM, BJP President JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah and Chief Ministers of several states were also present in this event.
Also present were Chief Minister of Assam and BJP’s success in the Northeast Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khanda, Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh and Chief Minister of Sikkim PS Tamang. Also on the stage was former BJP Chief Minister Biplab Deb, who was removed from the post last year.
Four ministers of the previous government have been retained. They are Ratan Lal Nath, Pranjit Singha Roy, Shantana Chakma and Sushant Chaudhary. Also, BJP inducted three new ministers in the cabinet. These are Tinku Roy, and Biplab Deb’s close confidants, Bikash Debbarma and Sudhanshu Das, chiefs of the Scheduled Tribes Morcha of the BJP.
BJP’s ally Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura (IPFT) has got a ministerial post. IPFT’s Shukla Charan Noatia took oath as minister.
Manik Saha had joined BJP in 2016. In 2022, he was made the Chief Minister in place of Biplav Dev. From 2020 to 2022, he was the President of Tripura BJP. Manik Saha, 70 years old, is a dental surgeon by profession.
At the same time, the Left parties led by the opposition Congress and CPM boycotted the ceremony. He took this decision by alleging violence by BJP supporters.
