Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG launch expected soon in India, only in LXi trim

New Delhi: The Indo-Japanese carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), has already confirmed that it will expand its CNG range in India, an alternative Go Green Proposition for Owners who go for Diesel Cars for low running cost, thus, offering high fuel economy. The company is expected to introduce the S-CNG spec Swift soon domestically and it will likely be offered only in the entry-level LXi variant. Currently, the base Swift LXi is priced at Rs. 5.73 lakh (ex-showroom) and the S-CNG variant could cost around Rs. 80.000 to Rs. 90,000 more.

Earlier this year, Maruti Suzuki had launched the updated Swift with dual-tone colour schemes and a revised grille alongside a new 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with more power. The Swift is retailed in LXi, VXi, ZXi, ZXi+ trims priced between Rs. 5.73 lakh and Rs. 8.41 lakh (ex-showroom).

The largest automobile manufacturer offers base variant with features such as 14-inch steel wheels, multi-information display in the instrument cluster, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, front seatbelt pretensioners and reminder, high-speed warning alert, ISOFIX child seat anchors, air conditioning system, power steering with tilt adjust, internally adjust wing mirrors and front 12V socket. All of them can be expected in the S-CNG version as well.

-Sequential Kits (which have separate injectors giving best Air-Fuel Mix and delivering Optimal Pickup as against Conventional Kits with a superior Mileage)

Why Maruti Suzuki CNG Cars

-Ban on Plying 10 Year Old Diesel Cars (as started in Delhi and NCR Zone and likely to spread to other locations)

-Ban on Fitness Certificate Renewal of 15 Year Old Cars

-Environmental Concerns on Increased Pollution emits from Diesel Cars

-Proposals in place for lower road tax on CNG Fitted Cars. Already, the road tax is lower in Factory Fit CNG Cars in Mumbai, Haryana – and similar benefits to soon spread in other cities too

It all is Shifting Focus towards CNG Fitted cars and the Market Leader Maruti Suzuki has all plans to extend offering CNG in Hatchback and Compact Sedan – Swift, Baleno and Dzire with an incremental Volume of 20% expected through CNG Run Fuel.
