All the accused have been identified as Yuvraaj, Keshav, Arjun, and Sumit. While Sumit and Yuvraj were arrested yesterday (September 15) in Begusarai, police arrested Keshav from Jhajha in Jamui while he was onboard the Maurya Express Train trying to flee to Ranchi. The fourth accused, Arjun, was arrested from Sahibpur Kamal in Begusarai.
All the guilty parties are from Begusarai. The accused will be handed over to the Begusarai police.
The fateful incident occurred on September 13 when two bike-borne criminals opened fire on NH-28 and NH-31 in Bihar’s Begusarai, killing one person and injuring nine others. The criminal activities were captured on CCTV cameras.
The motorcycle-borne accused started indiscriminately firing at crowd in Malhipur Chowk in Begusarai.
The incident has gradually taken on a political colour. Several leaders condemned the firing. Sushil Kumar Modi, former deputy chief minister of Bihar, said, “In Begusarai, two criminals on a motorcycle shot and killed one, injured nine people.” This is the first time such an incident has taken place in the history of Bihar. “
A day later, seven police officials were suspended for negligence in their duties.
