Massive blast at mosque during Friday prayers in Afghanistan’s Herat, top cleric killed

Afghanistan Mosque Blast: There is news of a loud explosion outside a mosque in Herat city of Afghanistan. Many people, including the imam of the mosque, are being said to have been killed.

Afghanistan: In another shocking incident in Herat city of Afghanistan, there has been a loud explosion outside a mosque. It is being told in the reports that the Imam of the mosque has been murdered, as well as there are reports of 15 people being killed. Although the exact information about the death toll has not been revealed yet, more than 200 people are seriously injured.

According to police, a Taliban-backed high-profile imam and civilians were killed in a blast outside a mosque in the western Afghan city of Herat. Taliban officials have confirmed the blast. Officials informed that the mosque’s cleric Mujeeb al-Rahman Ansari has been killed in the blast.
Local officials in Herat confirmed ToLO News about the death of Ansari in a blast at Guzargah mosque in Herat and said the blast was due to a suicide attack inside the mosque during the Friday prayers.

Even the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate, Zabihullah Mujahid has confirmed that the prominent cleric was killed in the blast that occured during during Friday prayers. Mujahid took to Twitter and said that the perpetrators of this incident will be punished.

There is no exact information on casualties yet. However, reports and videos emerging on social media suggest that the attack may result in high number of casualties.
