Birbhum: In yet another tragic incident, bomb blast reported in Margram village of Birbhum district of West Bengal. A TMC worker has died in this accident and two people are said to be injured. The name of the deceased is Newton Sheikh, who is the brother of Lalu Sheikh of TMC. At this time Lalu Sheikh’s condition is also critical and he has been admitted to the CCU.
According to local sources, a sudden explosion was heard after 10 pm. When people reached the spot, there was an atmosphere of chaos. One person was killed and two were seriously injured. For now, the police force is investigating the blast site. In March last year also, TMC panchayat leader Bhadu Pradhan was killed in a bomb attack in Birbhum, unidentified assailants hurled crude bombs in Rampurhat.
The injured people were rushed to Rampurhat sub-division hospital for medical treatment. A huge police force has been deployed at the spot and security has been beefed up.
According to sources, a few people were sitting near the hospital Mod when they suddenly heard the sound of an explosion around 10 pm. Police officials have reached the blast site and are examining the spot.
In March last year, a TMC panchayat leader Bhadu Pradhan was killed in an alleged bomb attack in Birbhum after unidentified assailants hurled crude bombs at Rampurhat.
