Amritsar: Incidents of fire have been occurring in several parts of the country. People haven’t overcome the agony of the major Delhi fire in which several people were charred to death. Another fire incident occurred today. A massive fire broke out at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Punjab’s Amritsar on Saturday afternoon.
The reason for the fire has not been known yet. The fire engulfed a hospital building near the X-Ray department at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital in Punjab. The fire brigade immediately rushed to the spot to douse the fire. All the patients have been evacuated safely.
The hospital employees claimed the fire started from an electricity transformer in the parking area behind the building. The patients admitted to different wards of the building were timely evacuated by the hospital employees and their attendants. All of them have been shifted to a safe place.
Three floors of the hospital buildings were damaged. The hospital authorities claimed that no one had any injuries. The loss of the medical equipment and building has not been estimated yet. The function of the hospital has been affected due to the fire.
