MCD Election 2022: Delhi civic polls to be held on December 4, results on December 7

New Delhi: The announcement of the dates of Delhi Municipal Corporation was finally on Friday evening. The Delhi State Election Commission announced that the MCD will be voted on December 4 and the results will come on December 7.

New Delhi: The announcement of the dates of Delhi Municipal Corporation was finally on Friday evening. The Delhi State Election Commission announced that the MCD will be voted on December 4 and the results will come on December 7.

Delhi Election Commissioner Vijay Dev said that in 68 assembly constituencies, elections will be held in 250 wards of the MCD. The notification for the elections will be issued on November 7. The last date for nominations is November 14. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on November 16. Candidates can withdraw their names till November 19.

Voting for the MCD elections, called the semi-finals of Delhi, will be held on December 4. The results will be declared on December 7. As part of the campaigning, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) are putting all their efforts. IN this MCD polls, Delhi will be a war zone for both of them to gain dominance in the Municipal Corporation elections.

The Delhi Election Commissioner said that out of the total 250 seats, 42 are reserved for SCs. Of these, 21 seats have been reserved for women from the SC community. Of the others, 104 seats are reserved for women. In this way, 50 percent seats have been reserved for women. 1.46 crore voters will exercise their franchise in the MCD elections. Of these, 213 voters are above 100 years of age. A total of 13 thousand 665 polling stations will be built.

The BJP recently launched the “Har Ghar Sampark” campaign in the national capital to reach out to a maximum number of people ahead of the elections. In this campaign, party members distributed BJP flags among people and also telling them about the achievement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Delhi Election Commissioner said that with the announcement of the dates, the model code of conduct has been implemented. Loud speakers will be banned from 10 pm to 6 am. Nominations will be held at 68 places. The limit of expenditure for the candidates in the election was earlier 5.57 lakhs, which has been increased to 8 lakhs.
