Where the police took the injured to the hospital. The doctors declared BJP’s Meerut district executive member Gaurav Chauhan brought dead. Yash, the nephew of BJP leader Gaurav, was also injured in the accident.
Superintendent of Police (Rural) Suraj Rai said that today a head-on collision took place between a pick-up vehicle going from Saharanpur to Muzaffarnagar near Saidham temple on the state highway and the car of a BJP leader, a resident of Meerut, coming at high speed from the front. Due to which both the vehicles were badly damaged. Rai said that as soon as the information about the accident was received, the Deoband police reached the spot and the injured were immediately taken to the primary health center, where doctors declared the BJP leader brought dead.
He said that among the injured were Yash Chauhan resident of Pallavapuram and pickup rider Satish and his wife Lakhmiri and driver Nayum resident of district Barambaki were referred to the Higher Center after first aid. It is being told that 37-year-old Gaurav Chauhan, resident of Dulheda Chauhan village of Pallavapuram police station area, had gone from Meerut to Saharanpur with his nephew Yash on Sunday morning. At around 9:35 am, a pickup vehicle hit the car from the front on Deoband Highway in Saharanpur.
The accident was so severe that the car was badly damaged. After the death, the police sent the body for post-mortem. At the same time, the injured nephew has been admitted to the hospital. At the same time, BJP leaders expressed grief over Gaurav’s death. It is being told that Gaurav’s body will be brought to the village after the post-mortem.
