Meerut: Three Killed, several feared trapped after Boiler at cold storage explodes

More than 30 people are suspected to be buried here and three people dies due to suffocation. Meerut: In Meerut’s Daurala, a major accident has taken place due to the falling of a lantern near the DPS school. More than 30 people are suspected to be buried here and three people have died due to suffocation. About 9 people have been seriously injured in this painful accident, while the rescue operation of the people buried under the debris is going on. Police force and relief personnel are deployed on the spot as soon as the information about the accident is received. Rescue workers who reached the spot are engaged in removing the debris.

Today the boiler of former MLA’s cold store exploded. The lenter of the cold store was filled to the brim. 50 to 60 laborers got buried under it. 3 have died on the spot. There has also been a leakage of ammonia in the cold store. Some laborers are buried under the debris and some have fainted due to leakage, who are being admitted to the hospital. So far 12 people have been pulled out of the debris.

As soon as the information was received, there was a crowd of people around. Police and fire tenders reached the spot. At the same time, the laborers who have fainted are being admitted to the hospital. There is an atmosphere of panic in the area.

On getting information about the incident, DM, SSP, ADM City Magistrate, SDM, CMO and SP City reached the spot. At the same time, the commissioner has also reached the spot. Dozens of ambulances and top officials have reached the spot after the accident. About 11 ambulances reached Meerut carrying the trapped laborers. 9 teams of fire brigade are engaged in rescue work. At the same time, on the instructions of the officials, 2-3 JCBs have been called on the spot, which are engaged in removing the debris and taking out the trapped laborers.
