New Delhi: Asian leaders are everywhere in the western countries. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar are of Indian origin. Now Hamza Yusuf of Pakistani origin is going to become the First Minister in Scotland. After the thrilling victory in the election, it has been decided for Hamza Yusuf to occupy this post.

After defeating his rival Kate Forbes in the Scottish elections, Hamza has taken steps towards becoming the political successor of Nicola Sturgeon, who was the First Minister of Scotland.

About a month and a half after the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon, the Scottish National Party has elected Hamza Yusuf as its leader. Hamza Yusuf, 37, is originally from Pakistan. He is the Minister of Health in the current government of Scotland. Now he is going to become the First Minister i.e. equivalent to the Prime Minister in India. He will become the first Muslim First Minister of Scotland.

Who is Hamza Yusuf?
Hamza Yusuf of Pakistani origin was born in the city of Glasgow. His father Muzaffar Yusuf came to Glasgow in 1960. His mother is from Kenya. Hamza, who was associated with politics since the beginning, was elected MP for the first time at the age of just 26. On this occasion, he wore traditional sherwani and took oath in Urdu besides English.

Ramzan started during the election campaign and Hamza Yousuf also kept a fast. He has also been in discussion because of his second and current wife. Hamza married physiotherapist Nadia El-Nakla in the year 2019. Nadia was also elected as counselor in the year 2022 from Hamza’s party itself. Nadia and Yusuf have a child. Nadia also has a child from her previous relationship. Hamza Yusuf was first married in 2010 to Gail Lithgoe, who was a worker of Hamza’s party. Hamza and Gail parted ways in 2016.
