A one-sided game in any sport is a boring affair. Sunrisers Hyderabad thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by nine wickets to claim their fifth consecutive victory. Marco Jansen and T Natrajan were unplayable in yesterday’s match.
Only two batters for RCB managed to reach double figures. SRH completed the formalities in the 8th over and reached the second spot in the points table.
In another encounter, GT bowlers kept nerve-stopping KKR 8 runs short. Skipper Hardik Pandya once again played a sublime innings, scoring 67 runs. Later, all the GT bowlers chipped in with wickets. GT’s Shami and Rashid Khan turned the match into the team’s kitty with their fine, economical bowling.
MI searches for maiden victory
The IPL 2022 has proved a boon for several teams and players. It has been a waterloo for Mumbai Indians so far. The franchise seems to have been searching for a victory key to unlock the point table.
The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are set to face the Mumbai Indians in today’s match at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
LSG’s performance is decent, winning four out of seven matches and occupying the fifth position in the points table.
KL Rahul has averaged 94.5 in the nine innings he has played so far against the Mumbai Indians since 2018. During his nine innings tenure, Rahul scored two hundreds as well. The Mumbai Indians need to be careful and break the jinx of Rahul’s consistency.
Currently, the LSG skipper is in stupendous nick, the third highest run getter in this edition of the IPL, just behind Jos Buttler and Hardik Pandya. But there are two faces to a coin. Rahul’s journey is replete with ups and downs in the 15th edition of the IPL.
Besides his century against MI and a 68 against Sunrisers Hyderabad, some ducks are also against his name, ducks against Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals, and scores of 40 and 30 against Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, respectively.
Mumbai Indians are looking clueless on the field, being the only team to have lost all of the seven matches.
MI players are not able to read the match effectively. The game planning was poor. Failures by the top and middle order batsmen have let the team down. The bowlers are not looking potent, and the overseas names haven’t made any impact on their opponent batters.
Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma led the way and did extremely well for MI. But other players haven’t justified their reputations. To boost MI morale, Rohit Sharma must act quickly; otherwise, it will be too late to return.
Both sides are replete with promising players. MI needs to break the shackles and register its first victory. LSG wants to go all out to clinch tonight’s encounter to go ahead in the tournament.
It is expected to be a thrilling match. Fans are hoping for a nail-biting finish. Be ready to watch another absorbing encounter on Sunday night.
