Dhaka: In northwestern Bangladesh, unknown miscreants vandalized 14 Hindu temples in several attacks on Saturday night. The police gave this information on Sunday. Vidyanath Barman, a Hindu community leader in Thakurgaon’s Baliyadangi upazila, said, “Unidentified people carried out the attacks in the night and vandalized the idols of 14 temples.”
Barman, general secretary of the upazila’s puja ceremony council, said some of the idols were destroyed, while some were found in ponds near temple sites. Burman said, “The culprits are yet to be identified, but we want them to be caught soon.”
