Lucknow: The Allahabad High Court has rejected the bail plea of Nikhat Ansari, wife of mafia leader Mau MLA Abbas Ansari. Nikhat Bano has been arrested on charges of illegal meeting with her jailed husband. Justice Subhash Vidyarti’s bench passed this order on Monday considering the seriousness of the allegations and Nikhat’s involvement in the case.
During the raid in Chitrakoot Jail on February 10, DM and SP caught Nikhat and Abbas Ansari meeting in a closed room. During this, two mobiles and many other items were recovered from Nikhat. Later it came to know that Nikhat often used to come to meet Abbas Ansari in jail like this. Against the jail rules, both used to meet for hours. For this, she did not even get a jail slip made. After this, a case was registered against Nikhat and she was arrested. Nikhat had filed a bail petition in the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. The court has rejected this petition.
Accused of meeting husband illegally in jail
Bano has been accused of threatening witnesses, providing prison facilities for her husband, giving inducements and giving gifts to prison officials and staff. Faraz Khan, who had helped Nikhat get a house near Chitrakoot Jail and helped introduce him to Abbas, was also arrested.
The police had arrested the accused Jail Warden Jagmohan, Jailer Santosh Kumar, Jail Superintendent Ashok Kumar Sagar and Deputy Jailor Chandrakala. In this case, a charge sheet has been filed against Abbas Ansari, his wife Nikhat Bano, driver Niaz Ansari, Faraj Khan and Navneet Sachan under various sections and charges. The report of this matter was lodged by sub-inspector Shyam Dev Singh at Kotwali Karvi police station on February 11.
