Mob assaults people offering namaz inside mosque in Gurugram

Gurugram: At least 12 people have been detained by the Gurugram Police on charges of assaulting and vandalising a mosque and attacking the people there.

The alleged incident occurred on Wednesday night in Gurugram’s Bhora Kalan area. The FIR claims that several troublemakers from the area partially damaged a local mosque, assaulted the worshippers, and even made death threats. According to the FIR, the miscreants then shut the mosque gate and fled.

There are just four Muslim families in Bhora Kalan, according to Subedar Nazar Mohammed, who made the complaint at the police station in Bilaspur. He and others were offering namaz in the mosque on Wednesday when some individuals broke down the door and attacked them. Mohammed added that the criminals had frightened and threatened them to leave the area.

A case has been registered under IPC Sections 295-A (deliberately outraging religious beliefs), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), 147 (rioting), and 148 (rioting by carrying weapons).

Three accused have been identified by the police so far. Their names are Rajesh Chauhan, Anil Bhadauria, and Sanjay Vyas. Further investigation has been underway.
