New Delhi: With the model code of conduct coming into effect in 5-poll bound states, the Covid-19 vaccine certificates in these states will no longer have the picture of Prime Minister Narendra Modi from, as per official sources on Sunday.
Covid vaccination certificates issued that in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur – where assembly elections are to be conducted starting from this month- will not have Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photo since the model code of conduct has come into force there,
The Union Health Ministry has applied necessary filters on the Co-WIN platform to exclude Modi’s photo from the vaccine certificate, a source said. According to sources, the filters were applied on Saturday night soon after the poll schedule was announced.
An official source said, “Health Ministry will apply necessary filters on CoWIN platform to exclude picture of prime minister from COVID-19 certificates being given to people in five poll-bound states because of model code of conduct coming into force.”
The source said that they have already applied the filters and the name and photo of the Prime Minister were removed since Saturday night in five poll-bound states.
