Modi lands in Ahmedabad to inaugurate Sabarmati Ashram centenary celebrations

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Ahmedabad today in order to inaugurate the Sabarmati Ashram centenary celebrations. Modi will also attend an event celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of Shrimad Rajchandraji.

PM who is on a two day visit in Gujarat is scheduled to visit and attend the programmes in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Modasa and Gandhinagar.

He is also slated to visit Rajkot in the evening for distributing aid among 18000 differently abled and inaugurate the first phase of the third link of Saurashtra Narmada Avataran Irrigation Yojana (SAUNI) by formally welcoming Narmada water into Aji dam. He is also scheduled to participate in a nine-kilometre-long road show from Aji dam to Rajkot airport.

Around 8,000 police officers will be on duty during the day and while speaking to the media, the Rajkot city police commissioner Anupam Singh Gehlot went on to say: “Due to the PM’s visit, we have prohibited parking on either side of the roads on which his convoy will pass. Similarly, some roads have been declared one-way due to VVIP movement.”

According to the information given by the reports, Modi on Friday will attend a programme to dedicate water supply schemes based on Vatrak, Mazum and Meswo Dams at Modasa in Aravalli district in north Gujarat. He will inaugurate two water supply projects worth Rs 552 crore for the region and address a large gathering at the venue.
