Bareilly: Animals sometimes turn dangerous and cause havoc. In a bizarre incident, the father of a four-month-old baby boy carried his son in his arms. At the same time, several monkeys snatched the baby from his arms and threw him from the three-story building, killing the baby on the spot. The incident took place in a village in UP’s Bareilly district on Monday.
A shocked Nirdesh Upadhyaya, the infant’s father, said, “There was a power cut at home.” It was getting dark. Preparation was in full swing for our elder son’s birthday. My younger son started crying, so I took him in my lap and went towards the terrace for some fresh air. After a while, some monkeys came to my terrace from another house, and two monkeys attacked me, and one of them snatched my son. I chased them down and shouted for help, but in the end, I found my son in a pool of blood.
Divisional forest officer Samir Kumar said, “The incident was very unfortunate.” Such behaviour is not normal and may require further study by experts. The forest department is attempting to remove some of the monkeys from densely populated areas, and locals can also obtain permission and assist us. “
The same kind of incident occurred earlier on February 7, when a five-year-old girl was seized by some monkeys in Bareilly’s Bichpuri village. Her skin was torn and she later died due to excessive bleeding.
