A security threat was made to an Azur Air chartered flight from Perm International Airport in Russia to Goa. The plane was then diverted to Uzbekistan as a result. 7 crew members and 238 passengers, including 2 children, were aboard, “airport sources claimed.”

According to the official, the flight, AZV2463, was diverted before it entered Indian airspace. It was supposed to touch down at Dabolim Airport in Goa at 4.15 am.

The decision of diversion took place after an email was received at 12.30 am by the Dabolim airport director that referenced a bomb being planted on the aircraft, an official told PTI.

It is the second incident regarding the bomb threat on a Moscow-Goa flight in a span of 11 days. A charter flight from Moscow to Goa had to make an emergency landing at Jamnagar on January 9 after receiving a bomb threat through email. There were 244 passengers and crew members on the flight.
