Khargone: Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, justified the bulldozing of “illegal buildings” belonging to persons who were reportedly implicated in the recent disturbances in the state on Thursday, 14 April.
On the 11th of April, one day after the incident, the local government razed at least 16 dwellings and 29 stores, the most of which were owned by Muslims.
Chouhan went on to say that his administration will prosecute everyone who participated in unrest.
“Some people are conspiring to spread riots in the state. They want to set the state on fire. I appeal to people to maintain peace and harmony. Nobody should bother about their security and honour,” the chief minister said during an event in Bhopal, as reported media.
