Betul: On Tuesday, an 8-year-old child fell into a 400-feet deep borewell while playing in the field in village Madvi in ​​Betul district of Madhya Pradesh. A rescue operation is being carried out to rescue the child trapped at a depth of about one foot in the borewell. The SDERF team was immediately dispatched as soon as the information was received. Teams of SDERF have also left for Bhopal, Hoshangabad and Harda.

Aathner police station in-charge Anil Soni told that the incident took place in Mandavi village at around 5 pm. He told that Tanmay Diavar was playing in the field when he fell into the borewell. Station in-charge Soni said that a rescue operation has been started and a machine has been called to dig the soil around the borewell. He said that arrangements have been made to provide oxygen to the child. The official said that the child is trapped in the borewell at a depth of about 60 feet.

Officials involved in the rescue operation said that it has been more than seven hours since the child was trapped, there is a problem in getting food and water, as his hands are up. Excavation has been done up to about 25 feet from the west side near the borewell. After this, the work slowed down due to the arrival of hard rock. In view of this, the administration has started the work of digging the tunnel from the east side from around 12 o’clock in the night.
