MP: Toddler, who falls in 300 ft-deep borewell, dies after 55-hours rescue operation

Sehore (Madhya Pradesh): In Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh, a borewell was pulled out on Thursday after about 52 hours of effort. The two-and-a-half-year-old girl was declared brought dead after being taken to the hospital. A police officer said that the minor had already died in the borewell and when he was pulled out, his body was found in a decomposed condition.

He said that the body of the victim has been sent for postmortem. Another official said that at around 1 pm on Tuesday, Srishti fell into a 300-feet borewell in Mungavali village. He was taken out at 5.30 pm on Thursday and taken by ambulance to the district hospital for examination.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Wednesday that she was initially trapped at a depth of about 40 feet in the borewell, but due to the vibrations of the machines involved in the rescue work, she slipped further down about 100 feet, making the task more difficult. Went.

An official said that she had slipped into the borewell to a depth of about 135 feet. Officials said that an army team also joined the rescue operation, while teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Emergency Response Force (SDERF) were already working to rescue the girl.
