Mumbai- Ahmedabad Vande Bharat Express damaged again, hits cow on route

New Delhi: The country's fastest train, Vande Bharat, again became a victim of an accident on Saturday morning. This accident happened in Gujarat, when the bull came in front of the train going from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Due to this the front part of the train broke. Visuals showed the damaged nose of the semi-high speed train, which is expected to be repaired by evening.

New Delhi: The country’s fastest train, Vande Bharat, again became a victim of an accident on Saturday morning. This accident happened in Gujarat, when the bull came in front of the train going from Mumbai to Ahmedabad. Due to this the front part of the train broke. Visuals showed the damaged nose of the semi-high speed train, which is expected to be repaired by evening.

Sumit Thakur, Chief PRO, Western Railways, said in a statement, “A cattle run-over incident occurred with passing Vande Bharat train near Atul in Mumbai Central division, wherein one bull was hit. The .train was on its journey from Mumbai Central to Gandhinagar.” The incident was reported at about 8:17 am.

Railway officials said that the cow did not survive and she died. He said that the train was stopped for 15 minutes. The officials in their statement on the incident said, “There is no damage to the train except damage on the nose cone cover of the front coach i.e. the driver coach.” The train is running smoothly. This will be looked into at the earliest.

The incident is the third in a month. Earlier, Vande Bharat Express was also damaged on October 7 after hitting a cattle and its front portion was damaged after colliding with a cow. This was the second incident in two days.

Earlier, the front compartment of the semi-high-speed train was damaged after it collided with a herd of buffaloes between Vatva and Maninagar railway stations in Gujarat on October 6, a day after its launch. The Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express was recently inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. PM Modi is set to flag off the fifth Vande Bharat train in November, which will connect the Chennai-Mysuru-Bengaluru route.
