Mumbai Hoarding Collapse: Two more bodies found. Two days after the Ghatkopar area incident, rescue teams recovered the additional bodies, bringing the total fatalities to 14, while 75 individuals sustained injuries. Despite a small fire breaking out during Wednesday’s search and rescue operations, prompt action from deployed fire tenders ensured its immediate containment.

Despite a small fire breaking out during the rescue operation, firefighters quickly extinguished it. The search for survivors continued for over 40 hours.

Officials confirmed that the hoarding was not authorized by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), although it had received a nod from the Assistant Police Commissioner. The hoarding was on land controlled by the Government Railway Police (GRP).

The Mumbai Railway Police stated that the hoarding’s installation had been approved by the GRP in December 2021. An investigation was launched after BMC lodged a complaint, but tragically, the collapse happened before any action could be taken.
