Mumbai man kills live-in-partner, chops her body into pieces at Mira road; Arrested

Thane: In yet another shocking incident, The body of a woman was found on the seventh floor of a building in Mira-Bhayander area of ​​Thane district. The body was chopped into several pieces. The deceased woman has been identified as Saraswati Vaidya.

A senior officer of Naya Nagar police station said that the deceased woman Saraswati Vaidya was in a live-in relationship with a man, identified as Manoj Sahni (56). The couple was living in the flat for the last three years.

Police said the body of the 36-year-old woman was chopped into several pieces. Police reached the spot after local residents complained about foul smell coming from the flat, he said.

The officer said that on reaching the spot, the decomposed body of the woman was found, which was cut into several pieces. He said that the police have detained two suspects and they are being interrogated. The officer did not reveal the identity of the suspects or a possible motive for the killing.

“Manoj Sahani and Saraswati Vaidya were in a live-in relationship and used to live in the Geeta Akash Deep building. The couple had a fight over some matter following which the woman was murdered by her partner. Her body was cut into pieces with a cutter. When we reached the house and opened the door, we understood it was a case of murder and the suspect tried to hide the evidence, “Jayant Bajbale, deputy commissioner of police (zone 1) told sources.

Police are investigating to find out the motive behind the murder. Police have taken into custody two suspects and he is being interrogated.

In May last year, a man identified as Aaftab Poonawala, murdered his live-in-partner Shraddha Walkar. He chopped her body into pieces and kept them in a fridge for almost three weeks at his house in south Delhi’s Mehrauli before scattering them at different places in the capital.

The Delhi Police filed a 6,629-page charge sheet in the case on January 24. Delhi’s Saket court has framed charges against Aftab Poonawala.
