Mumbai: Police arrested a man for giving death-rape threats to TV star Uorfi Javed

The accused had used WhatsApp to send threatening messages to the social media influencer Uorfi Javed. The accused used to threaten by calling from a new number every time. Police has arrested the accused from Patna.

Mumbai: Social media influencer Uorfi Javed, who often grabs headlines for her unique dresses and outspoken style, is constantly in headlines these days. People keep venting their anger on social media about Uorfi and her clothes, while people have now started threatening the actress over the phone as well.

Uorfi Javed was threatened with rape and death by a person, after which she complained about the whole matter to the police. At the same time, the police have arrested the person the accused from Patna. Accused had used WhatsApp to send threatening messages to the social media influencer. The accused used to threaten by calling from a new number every time.

Senior police inspector of Goregaon police station Dattatraya Thopte told that a few days ago, broker Naveen Giri had threatened Urfi with rape and death through WhatsApp. After this, the police arrested the accused from Bihar.

Taking strict action in the whole matter, the Mumbai Police has arrested the accused from Patna, the capital of Bihar. Uorfi had complained against Naveen Giri at Goregaon police station in Mumbai on Twitter handle. According to the reports, this person was continuously threatening to kill and rape Uorfi Javed by calling and messaging him on WhatsApp.

Accused, Naveen Giri used to threaten Javed by calling her from new numbers every time. In such a situation, Urfi Javed lodged a complaint against this person at Goregaon Police Station in Mumbai about six days ago. The actress had given Naveen’s call recording as evidence, after which the police started searching for the accused. Now that the police have arrested the accused Naveen, an FIR has been registered against him under sections 354, (A), 354 (D), 509, 506 of the IT Act and threatening. The accused has been sent to jail custody.
