In a significant development linked to the recent firing incident outside Bollywood icon Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence, the Mumbai Police have detained Harpal Singh (34), adding another name to the list of arrests associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Harpal Singh, hailing from Fatehabad, Haryana, was apprehended in his hometown by the Mumbai Crime Branch following leads from the investigation into the shooting incident near Salman Khan’s residence.
With Singh’s arrest, the tally of individuals detained in connection with the April 14 firing outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartment reaches six, marking progress in the ongoing probe.
During interrogation, connections between Singh and previously apprehended gang members, notably Mohammed Rafique Chowdhary, came to light. Singh allegedly tasked Chowdhary with surveilling Khan’s residence and provided financial assistance amounting to ₹2-3 lakh, according to police sources.
The mastermind behind the alleged conspiracy, Lawrence Bishnoi, currently incarcerated in Ahmedabad’s Sabarmati central prison, along with his brother Anmol Bishnoi, purportedly based in North America, have been implicated in the firing incident.
