Mumbai police on alert after receiving threat call at International Airport from terror outfit Indian Mujahideen

Mumbai: A threat call has been received regarding the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai, after which the security has been increased. This threatening phone call came at the airport center from the terrorist organization named Indian Mujahideen, after which the agencies including Mumbai Police have come on alert mode.

Sources said, the call was received at the airport center at around 10 pm on Monday night. The person told his name as Irfan Ahmed Shaikh and said that he is a member of the terrorist organization named Indian Mujahideen. After telling about himself, the person spoke suspiciously using code words, which the caller was unable to understand.

Case registered against unknown person

The member of the Airport Center informed the Mumbai Police about this. After getting the information, all the agencies of the airport were alerted. Police has started investigation by registering a case against this unknown person under section 505 (1) of IPC.

This is the second threat call Mumbai has received within a week. A couple of days back, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) received a mail from an unidentified individual claiming to be a Talibani member threatening to carry out a terror attack in Mumbai.

In January, a call was received at Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai from an unknown caller who threatened to blow up the educational institution. The caller claimed to have planted a time bomb at the school.

A similar call informing about the bombs planted in various parts of the city was received in October last year. Mumbai police had received a ‘suspicious’ call from an unidentified caller informing them that bombs are planted at several key places across the city.
