A video shows firefighting operations going on in the building. The six people killed in the fire were one man and five women, two of whom were minors. Of the 40 people injured, 12 were men and 28 were women, including a minor. According to the information, the fire broke out in the parking area of the seven-storey building.
As soon as the officials reached the spot, the work of extinguishing the fire started and the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. The injured were taken to two hospitals in Mumbai, HBT Hospital and Cooper Hospital.
The fire was later brought under control and cooling efforts are underway. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
