Murder accused wrestler Sushil Kumar surrenders in Tihar Jail

Junior wrestler Sagar Dhankhar was beaten to death in the year 2021 in the parking lot of Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi.

Sushil Kumar Surrender: In connection with the murder of junior wrestler Sagar Dhankhar, wrestler Sushil Kumar has surrendered in Delhi’s Tihar Jail. The court had granted conditional bail to Olympic medalist accused Sushil Pehalwan for undergoing a knee operation.

The Delhi Police had filed a 170-page charge sheet in the court in the Dhankhar murder case, in which Sushil Kumar was made the main accused. Sushil Kumar was out on bail.

Got bail on medical grounds

Sushil Kumar was granted interim bail from the Rohini court from July 23 to July 30, whose term was extended for a few more days. Sushil was granted bail to undergo knee surgery on medical grounds. While granting bail, the court had ordered that two Delhi Police personnel would accompany Sushil Kumar. Also, the court had said that Sushil would not tamper with the witnesses.

Wrestler Sagar was killed in 2021

It is alleged that Sushil Kumar, along with his associates, attacked 23-year-old wrestler Sagar Dhankhar, his friend Sonu and three others in the parking lot of Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi on the intervening night of 4-5 May 2021 due to a property dispute. Later Sagar Dhankhar died.

20 people were made accused

Delhi Police has made 20 people accused including Sushil Kumar. Out of which 18 accused have been arrested by the police. Two accused are still absconding in this case, whose search is on continuously. According to the information, there is a charge sheet of about 170 pages in this case and there are 1000 pages in it. That means a total of 1100 pages of charge sheet has been filed. The police have produced 155 witnesses in the case.

Earlier, on March 6, the court had granted interim bail for four days to Sushil Kumar. He was granted bail to attend his father’s funeral. Sushil is in judicial custody since June 2021.
