Muzaffarnagar: 2 labourer dead, several hurt in building collapse

Muzaffarnagar: An official said that two labourer was killed and several others were injured as a building collapsed in Muzaffarnagar on Sunday night. The injured are currently undergoing treatment. According to the information, the incident took place the Jansath area of Muzaffarnagar.

Muzaffarnagar: An official said that two labourer was killed and several others were injured as a building collapsed in Muzaffarnagar on Sunday night. The injured are currently undergoing treatment.

According to the information, the incident took place the Jansath area of Muzaffarnagar. The incident happened when around 25 labourers were attempting to increase the height of the structure alongside a newly constructed highway.

At least 10-15 persons are still feared trapped under the debris. After receiving information about this incident, Police and administrative officials rushed to the scene to initiate rescue operations. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Abhishek Singh and other officials are present at the scene.

Local people said that the owner of the building, Murtlin (only goes by the first name), workers were hired to increase the height of the structure using jacking techniques.

The building fell on the working workers when suddenly the use of many jacks slipped suddenly. Emergency services quickly reached the scene and managed to save 12 persons in the form of filing this report.

Muzaffarnagar DM Aravind Mallappa Bangari said,” Of the 12 people brought out from the debris, one lost his life while 11 injured are being treated. A search operation is on to rescue others.” The DM said that to remove the debris and search for survivors, heavy machinery such as JCBs, cranes, and gas cutters are being utilised.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was also called to the site to support the ongoing rescue efforts. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken note of the incident and directed officials to expedite rescue operations. In a statement, “The Chief Minister has taken cognizance of the building collapse incident in Muzaffarnagar. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the officials to immediately reach the spot and expedite rescue operations. “
