Myanmar Army attacked a Buddhist monastery and killed 28 people. The attack was carried out in a village in Shan State of Myanmar. A rebel organization Karenni Nationalist Defense Force (KNDF) has given this information. Let us tell you that the military coup in Myanmar has been close to two years and since then the violence between the army and the rebel organizations in this neighboring country of India is going on. Fighting between the army and rebel groups has escalated in recent days.

Myanmar has seen an increase in the number of deadly battles between the military and armed resistance groups since it took power in a coup two years ago. There is some fierce fighting in this area between the capital Nay Pyi Taw and the border with Thailand.

The KNDF said that on Saturday, the army’s air force and artillery entered the village after shelling at around 16:00 local time and killed villagers hiding in the monastery. The KNDF says that more than 28 people have died in the army attack. According to reports published in the Myanmar media, the army made people stand against the wall of the monastery and shot them. The monks of the monastery are also among those who died.

This attack by the Myanmar army was so merciless that many houses in the village were also set on fire. Let us tell you that Shan province is a state bordering Thailand and the army has been facing strong opposition here since the coup. This is the reason why violent clashes have become common here. The Karenni organization is anti-military and their stronghold is Nan Nein, the capital of Shan province.

Let us inform that in the year 2021 in Myanmar, the army captured the power by overthrowing the government. Since then violence has continued in the country. So far, 40 thousand people have become homeless in Myanmar due to this violence. Eighty lakh children are unable to go to school and 15 million people are malnourished. So far, according to official figures, 2900 people have died in this battle.
