Nagaland assembly elections 2023: Congress announces 1st list of 21 candidates

New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday released the first list of 21 candidates for the Nagaland Assembly elections. According to the list of candidates released by the party, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President K.K. Theri has been made the candidate from Dimapur-1.

New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday released the first list of 21 candidates for the Nagaland Assembly elections. “The Central Election Committee of the Congress has selected the candidates for the ensuing elections to the Legislative assembly of Nagaland,”an official statement said .

According to the list of candidates released by the party, Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee President K.K. Theri has been made the candidate from Dimapur-1.

A day before the list of candidates was released, a meeting of the Central Election Committee was held under the chairmanship of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in which the names of the candidates were approved.

Congress has fielded S Amento Chisti from Dimapur-II (ST), V Lasuh from Dimapur-III (ST), Akvi Zhimomi from Ghasapani-I and Rosie Thomas from Tenning (ST).

Assembly elections in Nagaland will be held on February 27 and results will be declared on March 2. The last date for filing nominations is February 7.
